Quotes
Prices on this website are starting prices. The number that counts is the one we give you in writing after we understand what your site needs. That quote holds for 30 days and does not change once work starts, unless you ask for something that was not in it.
R1 000 is where a Standard site starts. More advanced work takes more time and costs more, so you get a firm number in writing before anything begins.
Paying
A 50% deposit is required before work starts. The balance is due on the day your site goes live. Payment is by EFT, and you get an invoice for both halves.
A site stays on our own address until the balance is paid. Once it is, the site moves to your domain and it is yours.
What we need from you
Your logo if you have one, photos, a list of what you sell, your hours and your contact details. We will ask for anything else we need. Work usually waits on content rather than on us, so the sooner it arrives the sooner you are live.
Changes and revisions
One round of changes after launch is included. Beyond that, small text and photo changes are covered by the monthly hosting and care plan if you take it. Larger changes, new pages and new features are quoted separately. Extra pages are R300 each.
Who owns what
When the final payment clears, the website and its content are yours. The domain is registered in your name from the start. You can move the site to another host or another developer whenever you like, and we will hand over the files.
Fonts, photographs and any third party components stay under their own licences, which pass to you on the same terms we hold them.
Hosting and care
Hosting and care is R250 a month and is entirely optional. It covers hosting, domain renewal, backups, security updates and the content changes you ask for. It runs month to month and you can stop it whenever you want.
Not taking it is fine. We recommend a host and show you how to set it up yourself.
Cancelling and refunds
You can cancel at any point. What happens to the deposit depends on how far the work has gone:
- Before any work starts, the deposit is refunded in full.
- Once work has started, the deposit covers the time already spent. If we have spent less than the deposit, we refund the difference. We will show you what was done.
- After the site is delivered, the work is complete and the balance is payable.
If we cannot finish the job for any reason on our side, you get every cent back, including for work already done.
None of this limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act. Where the Act gives you more than these terms do, the Act wins.
What we do not promise
We build sites properly and we do the groundwork that helps you get found. Nobody can promise a particular position on Google, a number of enquiries or an amount of revenue. Anyone who does is guessing.
If something goes wrong
Tell us. Most problems are a five minute conversation. If we genuinely cannot agree, we will both try mediation before anything else. These terms are governed by South African law.
